Ages and stages of development

Our children all grow and develop at such different rates – and they change so much from year to year. When we think about helping them grow in faith, something that helped when they were four, might not work when they are five or six.

It can be really helpful to understand what stage of development our children are at and what ways of loving them, building them up and nurturing their faith might work best.

So we’ve created an overview of the stages our children go through, and talked about how we can help them at each age. Don’t worry if they don’t quite match up with your experience – children are all unique! But you can use the ideas as a guide to try out different ways of building faith at home.
